Teeth Whitening

Dr. Moche provides conventional and Zoom teeth whitening. Upon request, Dr. Moche will provide a consultation to assess the options most suitable for you. Be aware that teeth whitening is ideal for patients who have healthy, unrestored teeth (minimal fillings) and healthy gums who would like a brighter smile. Patients with yellow tones to their teeth respond best. However, this cosmetic procedure is not recommended for everyone, such as those with gum disease and certain types of restorations.

A convential method of teeth whitening is with dentist-supervised at-home bleaching products. Dr. Moche will take an impression of your teeth and make a customized mouthpiece tray. This customization allows for maximum contact between the whitening gel, which is applied to the mouthpiece tray, and the teeth and minimizes the gel’s contact with gum tissue.Over-the-counter whitening products contain a mouthpiece tray, but with a “one-size-fits-all” tray can rritate the gum and soft tissue by allowing more bleaching gel to seep onto these tissues. With in-office procedures, the bleaching agent is applied directly to the teeth.

With Zoom teeth whitening procedure, your teeth go from yellow and dull to bright and white within an hour. The process lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin. The Zoom procedure takes three 15-minute sessions, all performed on the same visit.Zoom whitening uses an ultraviolent light to assist a peroxide gel in whitening your teeth. Prior to the Zoom whitening procedure, Dr. Moche will examine you to ensure that they are a suitable candidate.
